Nathanael Mosher is on a mission to find what makes life worth living—and a story worth telling.

Follow him as he documents his attempts to become a better man by living a better life and telling a better story. He can’t tell you how to live, but he can tell you how he survived his own. Through interview, through song, through joke, through poem, through heart-wrenching story, he’ll tell you the truth of his life in as many ways as he can in the hopes that one day, you will too.

“You will go out in joy and be led forth in peace; the mountains and hills will burst into song before you, and all the trees of the field will clap their hands.” - ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭55‬:‭12‬ ‭NIV‬‬

What in the world is a PPDK anyways?

One day, I’m going to have a building on the westside of Los Angeles where people go to not only be fed spiritually by the redemptive true stories of those seeking the highest good, but also accidentally entertained. To “entertain” means to uphold expectation. PPDK is an abbrevation of the word “paraprosdokian” which means “against expectation”. When someone delivers their testimony gracefully, artfully, and with the highest skill, not only does one go there and leave feeling “entertained”, but their expectations are transcended into a new place they never thought they would go. That is the power of the “paraprosdokian”, a turn of phrase in which the second part makes you re-evaluate the meaning of the first, resulting in perspective. Patiently enduring the pain of life with the help of people engages one with their purpose, reveals perspective, and allows them to live to tell the tale. “Paraprosdokians”, or “one-liners”, are the result. Every great story is chock full of them and it’s our mission to deliver you the best ones!

The question I’ll be continually asking each and everyone one of you (once I ask myself) is:

“What’s one sentence that kept you going? Now tell me the story behind it.”
